Jordan Valley PDF  | Print |

Jordan ValleyLooking down on Jordan Valley from the heights of Valley View Drive is one of the most scenic vistas in Linn County.

To the southeast, the cleft summit of Snow Peak looms nearly 4300 feet above the valley.  This mountain marks the transition from the Cascade foothills to the high peaks of the range.  Snow Peak towers majestically above much of the tour.  It may hold remnants of snow well into June, and provides year round water for both the Thomas Creek and Crabtree Creek drainages.  There have been reported sightings of the mythical creature Sasquatch (Bigfoot) on Snow Peak.

Rolling hills covered in cropland and forest drop away to the valley floor, once home to the unincorporated town of Jordan, and a Trappist Monastary.  Today all that remains of this history are cemeteries, a broken dam, and a historic church.
